Lonny, always interested in mustangs, began restoration on his 1970 Mach 1. Jason, following in his brother’s footsteps, began work on his 1969 Mach 1. These brothers then showed the restored mustangs together, placing first and second at most shows. Their success led to the opening of “Gateway Classic Mustang” (GCM).
Through many years of hard work and an excellent reputation for quality, several GCM restorations have been featured in various magazines. GCM landed a deal to build the “Red Rocker”, a 1967 mustang fastback for Sammy Hagar. The build was featured on an episode of Hot Rod TV. This led to 3 magazine covers and several feature articles.
Recently, GCM has been a part of several noteworthy projects such as the Woods
Brothers/David Pearson project to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation and the
most recent being the Auto Trader Classics "69 Boss 302" powered by Ford's new
and soon to be legendary Coyote 5.0.
GCM is the only place to buy the Steve McQueen Signature Mustang. This project
started as 1968 mustang fastback build for Chad Mcqueen, son of Steve McQueen
who starred in the 1968 movie “Bullitt”. The two hour mini series for this
build aired on the D.I.Y. network in early 2009. The Steve McQueen Signature
Mustang is available exclusively through Gateway Classic Mustang.
